It appears that the U.S is being sold off to foreigners. More and more Americans are unable to afford a piece of land with a house on it that they can call home anymore, but foreigners can.

It seems that foreigners will buy up the majority of the homes that have been foreclosed on, and it will be only a matter of time before foreigners buy the rest of the homes that reside on the market. There’s going to be a lot of renters someday in the United States. Renting isn’t terrible. Many has to do it, because they can’t get the financing to afford a home, but these news articles don’t look good for the United States.

The good side of this is that we can pay our debts off to foreign countries by making them pay property taxes. But then again, if they own everything; they’ll have the United States government on their side so they probably won’t have to pay much (if any) property taxes, because they own so much. There is always loop-holes for the wealthy.
Foreigners worked cheaper than the United States, so they got the jobs. Now foreigners has all the money, so they are going to get the United State’s land and homes.

“So what do you think about americans buying real estate in other countries?”

That’s a trick question! Americans are too poor to purchase homes anywhere. Just kidding! ;-)
We still have some wealthy people here, but there financial portfolios took a blow and they are limiting what they spend to preserve their wealth.

Anyway, Americans don’t flood into a foreign country and buy up the majority of the houses on the market. The U.S is in major financial trouble. More and more of its native born citizens are unable to afford cars and homes, which will cause the U.S citizens to rent a foreign purchased American home.

Like I said, nothing wrong with this. It perfectly legal. Plus, we can extract a lot of property tax out of them. But like I also said, they may not have to pay property tax because of some kind of loop-hole.

And whose Fault IS it? Are we going to blame THEM- for OUR greed & Stupidity ??! The Country’s going BROKE- so we don’t need their $$$ ? Since WHEN? -Afterall, did’t we put OURSELVES in this “position”- by shelling out BILLIONS of $$$- for foreign Products sold at Wal-mart ? And NOW those same “foreigners” are showing up with OUR Dollars- buying out the land from under us because WE got “greedy” for cheap goods- in the FIRST place !!! Reality IS: You GET what you “pay for”. And we BOUGHT- what we GOT !!! :o

it will backfire just like it happened to the japanese in the 80’s.

I have never liked the fact that foreigners can buy property in the US. But then there are a lot of things we do that I don’t like.

  • Lupines supports GEERT WILDERS says:

LOL well if they don’t pay their property taxes the land gets repossessed. Property taxes are kind of like renters fee as nobody really owns the land except the government of America.

America also has “eminent domain” laws that are used against our own citizens I can tell you that in a heartbeat if foreigners started causing a threat to America those laws would be invoked.

Just because a foreigner owns land doesn’t mean they are let into country. Property ownership does not equal citizenship nor does it give someone the automatic right to immigrate or pass the borders.

In issues of public health and security then any law can be cast aside.

I think the foreigners cause the biggest threat when they are let into country in mass numbers then influence American mindsets as “posing as” Americans. We listen to each other and have vested interest in America, but the foreigners do not and nobody knows their motives.

Also, new immigrants tend to vote Democratic instead of more conservative Republican so to me owning land isn’t as much of a threat as letting them in the country to “pose” and vote as Americans, which they actually do. For instance, I know a Cuban who made it here and he’s volunteer fireman and voting. Nothing against the Cubans he’s here he could apply and get auto citizenship on “wet feet dry feet” clause, so he’s automatic citizen but nobody checks. You know how many immigrants are here illegally that are now in the voting bloc?

To me that is the biggest threat. Not just owning land but letting them in the country to begin with to then pose, and influence American mindsets, and then vote to actually change things.

We can take back land easy enough but cannot take back a mindset or other law so easily when opinions are influenced and people are outnumbered.

Edit to Carousel: We complain about immigrants because America is “good now” thanks. We are a nation of immigrants that set up our own laws already. We don’t want new immigrants coming in and changing things to whatever suits them as we like it the way it is They don’t drop their hostility to us just because they come here and just because we are a nation of immigrants doesn’t mean we have to let any joe blow immigrant into the country. Those suckers need to assimilate or stay out. I’m personally sick of arguing with new immigrants that revoked their oath of loyalty to America once they got here and think they have ownership here now because they live here. That’s BS. America is “good now” and if it’s not broke don’t fix it why mess with a good thing?

  • PuppyPrince says:

Be thankful someone is buying it, because apparently Americans can’t afford to. If you were desperate to sell and a foreigner wanted to buy your property at a good price, I bet you wouldn’t be fussy!

Why are you Americans so xenophobic? What are you scared of? You were all foreigners once, you know! Anti-foreigner paranoia is not a good look. Next it will be “reds under the bed” again. You’re all going to be speaking Spanish in another generation anyway.

  • Carousel says:

Plenty Americans have bought property in Spain, so why shouldn’t people buy property in the US.
Why do Americans complain about foreigners. Their great country was founded by immigrants.

  • tartu2222 says:

If you’re so worried about it, go out and buy some US property yourself. Every one you buy is one less for those ‘foreigners’ to get their grubby hands on.
